The children have recently made flowers out of paper specifically so that we could use them to enhance our nature display.
The children were given two different examples of flowers that they could take inspiration from, but were also encouraged to create their own flowers using their creativity. The children were really engaged and loved getting to create their own flower to contribute to one of our displays. The older children were able to get more creative with it, while the younger children needed a bit more guided instruction to complete their flower. It was great to see the children building on their fine motor skills and problem solving to create these gorgeous flowers and manipulating different materials. It also opens their minds to being sustainable and aware of their environment throughout the activities we do at OSHC.
